I took all of the practice exams offered by PE Prepared for the Civil Water Resources exam prior to taking it in October 2018. They are, as others have said, somewhat easier than the actual exam. You will take these practice tests and think, "Oh man I am so ready for the PE!" and then you'll take the actual exam and think, "Well that sucked." Still, these are a great practice for actually sitting down and working 40-80 problems at a time, and they do give you a good foundation for the kind of unit manipulation and mass balance/equilibrium problems that are so common on the exam. Overall, highly recommended, but make sure you practice some more difficult problems as well, especially in the wastewater treatment and geotechnical areas.

I just finished taking the PE this past Friday, and I do think that this practice exam was very helpful as a study aide. This exam seemed just a bit easier than the actual exam. I did really appreciate that the style of questions was quite similar and representative of the actual exam. From my research, PE Prepared were some of the more reasonably priced, representative exams for the Water Resources & Environmental depth portion. I wanted to practice getting into the exam mindset and was having a hard time finding recent practice exams for the afternoon.

This practice exam really helped me prepare for the exam. I took it as a timed practice test and felt it to be a little tougher on the enviromental questions than the real exam. However, I am sure that helped me to feel comfortable during the exam. I really recommend this practice exam.

Problems were the same difficulty as the PE. It seems like many books have long, extensive problems that would never be on the exam. Those problems are great as study material while you're learning but can be very discouraging when you try to do them as a practice test. Taking this practice exam will give you a good idea on if you are ready to take the exam. I used this book and the NCEES practice exam for Water Resources and felt extremely prepared working through the second half of the PE exam. Lets just hope I passed!

Good practice test, well worth the money. I did pass 1st try but if I could do anything different with my preparations I would have bought several different versions of the practice tests (rather than additional study materials other than Lindberg).

I was glad I used this book to prep for the PE. The level of difficulty and content was very helpful to prep for the exam.

Where have all the role models gone? Who should kids -- and particularly Christian kids -- look up to these days? Maybe it's only because the "bad" stories get more press, but it often seems like all of the celebrity "heroes" (singers, actors, athletes, etc) are greedy, vain, or downright criminal! Thankfully, that's not the case, and there are still some truly worthy heroes to be found.Mike Fisher is one of them.This book tells the story of one of the NHL's grittiest players, currently a Center for the Nashville Predators. It chronicles his life as a child growing up in Peterborough, Ontario, and his rise through the professional hockey ranks to the highest levels of national and international competition. More importantly, it reveals how his life and his career have been impacted by his faith in Jesus Christ.Defender of Faith stays pretty surface-level as far as the specifics of the Christian faith, choosing to focus on portraying major events in Fisher's life rather than dwelling on doctrines or denominational issues. This is to be expected, as the book's target audience is children ages 9-12, as part of the ZonderKidz Biography Series. For a kids' book, it is excellent; an easy and enjoyable read.The book's greatest strength is the way it shows Fisher living out his faith in a winsome manner despite his role in the high-pressure world of professional sports. A naturally quiet and reserved man, Fisher realized the platform that he had to impact lives, and has stepped into the public spotlight (particularly since his marriage last year to country music superstar Carrie Underwood) as an outspoken advocate of Christianity and community involvement.I was particularly interested in hearing how he reconciled his faith in the gospel with his tough-nosed play, including his willingness to engage in fights on the ice. Fighting in the NHL is often criticized as being an act of aggression, but Fisher sees it (as do I) as a way to protect one's teammates. The role of protector and defender is very compatible with a Christian view of masculinity, and I was glad to see Fisher debunk the all-too-common idea that Christians must be passive pushovers!It was also touching to read about Fisher's relationship with a young boy named Elgin-Alexander Fraser. I was well aware of Fisher's active role in community service and philanthropy -- including running the Mike Fisher Hockey Camp, serving as honorary board president of an organization for terminally ill children called Roger's House, and his involvement with Hockey Ministries International and the Make-a-Wish Foundation -- but did not know that he had cared so much about the children he worked with that he visited this very sick 3-year-old multiple times between games during the 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs. When the boy died just as the Ottawa Senators advanced to the Finals (a lifelong dream for every hockey player), Fisher served as a pallbearer for the funeral.One thing I would like to have read that the book lacked was an account of some of Fisher's struggles with his faith. In interviews, he has mentioned that there were times in his career when hockey became almost an "idol" to him, and that he had to refocus and get his priorities straight. These are the types of struggles that are common to every Christian, and it would be very beneficial for young people to have the opportunity to see that their role models are also real people with real trials, and to observe how they persevere through these times of difficulty. This is sadly missing from his biography.Still, this is a great biography for kids, and particularly for those who are hockey fans. As a Christian and a Nashville Predators fan, I am immensely proud to have Mike Fisher on my team, and I look forward to many years of cheering for him both on and off the ice!Please note that 100% of all proceeds from the sale of Defender of Faith will go to World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Not a Jets or a Predators fan. That said, this is a good but unenthralling read for kids. When it comes to more than a very surface-level book, though, it's not particularly impressive. Against what exactly is Mike Fisher defending the faith? There's no major trial or attack on his faith mentioned anywhere in the book other than that hockey sometimes "almost became an idol", so I fail to see the merits of trumpeting oneself with an overblown title. That he's married to Carrie Underwood seems to be the main reason the media pays attention to him. Considering his reputation as a gritty, tough teammate-defending hockey player and a talented defensive forward, that's a pity.If there were actual examples in the book explaining why he struggled or with what, it might be more useful. As is, "This hockey player is a Christian" is about the full summary of the book. Given the work with various ministries and example set to teammates, I was hoping for a lot more from this book. It's readable at its target age, but not particularly encouraging because there's no particular struggle anywhere.I applaud Mike Fisher for his stand for Christ. Just wish that had come out in the book a lot more.

Enjoyed reading about Mike Fisher's hockey career. What a blessing his story is and an inspiration to Christians all over the world. I'm excited to see what God has in store for him in the future.

If you have a young sports fan in your life, this is a good choice. The author keeps the story moving and doesn't get bogged down in statistics. The character of Fish develops throughout his NHL experience, and he shines through the adversity and his successes.What surprised me about this book was the aspect of hockey that involves protecting your team and physical contact. Be prepared to read this book with your child and to discuss this issue of fighting to protect your community.You'll enjoy this book and appreciate how organic and real Mike's relationship with God is. Mike is a role model because he develops his abilities to the fullest and shows maturity and compassion when life gets rough.

Mike Fisher is a role model for everyone, not just athletes. This book gives you facts that you may not know about his life and faith in Jesus. The book goes in order of his life starting all the way back to his childhood to now living out his dream as an NHL player, and husband to country singer Carrie Underwood while still staying on track with his walk with God. This book is a great read for all ages! I love Mike Fisher so much more! What a Godly guy! :)

He's a Christian and proud of it. He's a true role model for young boys trying to make their way through the athletic ranks, dealing with foul-mouthed peers and coaches. He makes it clear he believes in a relationship with Jesus Christ rather than just being religious. It's more than just showing up at church once a week, its a 24/7 walk with the Lord. A great book for teens facing persecution for their beliefs. A good read. I bought it for my grandson, who also liked it and benefited from it.

I loved this book. It was a great read. I'm 12 years old and my mom bought this book for me on her Kindle through Amazon.com. Defender of Faith inspired me to continue to be a good Christian and keep a strong faith in God. It was a positive story. Mike Fisher had to overcome many obstacles, but he overcame them through his faith in God. I loved it!

I purchased this book in hopes of gaining better insight into law school admissions and while I think it is a good starting place it isn’t information that is difficult to find elsewhere.I believe this book is geared towards people aiming for top 20 schools or maybe top 50. However, it has pointers for everyone.Note that it is frequently a plug for the authors business.Additionally it has a lot of information that comes off as very elitist and forgets that not everyone is aiming for really posh schools. So, if you’re aiming for a school whose 50th percentile is a 155 LSAT and a 3.25 GPA then this book is often going to feel like it is looking down on you.If you’re pretty well versed in what a school is looking for in an application but hoping for some new information then skip this book.It’s a great starting place if you aren’t sure where to begin. It’s also well organized if you want all the information in one place. It is information that you can find on nearly every blog, podcast, and discuss forum, however.I think the BEST advice comes directly from your goal school’s admissions team.Remember that law schools want good students just as badly as students want good schools!They are there to help.While this book is full of good advice the best advice is going to come from the person who will actually be reading your application and deciding on it.Schedule a tour of the law school, attend any meetings or functions they host for law school hopefuls, reach out to them.Don’t let the elitist attitudes of some people make you feel like you can’t get into a school you that they don’t speak for. This is a well-written and well-researched description of the economic problems ailing contemporary American agriculture, and of the deleterious effects mammoth-scale corporate farming is having on the environment. The author is an experienced investigative reporter and an unashamed proponent of sustainable agriculture and the ever-dwindling "family" farmer representative of traditional crop cultivation in the United States. As such, Diet For A Dead Planet is a bit of a polemic and firmly in the camp of other books critical of the relationship between agricultural economics and modern food production, such as Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation. Needless to say, Cargill and Archer-Daniels Midland executives are not going to be enamored of Diet, but any citizen concerned about the state of farming in the US, and its effects on public health and environmental well-being, would do well to read this book.Cook organizes his topic into three sections, dealing with food quality and safety; the business and economic aspects of modern agriculture; and environmental consequences of profligate pesticide use and "factory" farm effluents. Each section contains several chapters with extensive footnotes. The chapters are obviously targeted for a general audience, and as a consequence are very readable without overwhelming the reader with statistics and technical jargon. In particular, I found the chapters on the evolving history of American agriculture offered a concise but informative account of a complex and often tumultuous subject. Other chapters on such diverse subjects as the "mad cow" crisis, the continuous deposition of toxic pesticides in water supplies, and the travails of workers in high-throughput slaughterhouse operations, are all eye-opening to one degree or another.Cook ends the book with a admonition to the public: unless we actively choose to support organic / sustainable farm operations, our health and the welfare of the environment we live in are not going to improve. Rather than simple hectoring, however, in the last segment of the book he provides an extensive listing of whole-food organizations and advocacy groups dedicated to helping us change the way we eat and consume natural resources. There is of course an element of "better to light one candle" rhetoric here; even Cook is not so naïve as to think that tomorrow will see the US converted to any kind of enormous vegan commune. But his hope is that after reading Diet some of us will devote a bit of thought to the hows and whys of our eating habits, and in this, I think he is as realistic as any "muckraker" can be.

Whether he is taking on the exploitation of farm workers and poultry-plant employees; the take-over of large-scale agribusiness; farm subsidies, or an America swimming in pesticides and animal waste, Mr. Cook has clearly done his research. Extremely well documented, the book contains a number of startling statistics. Did you know that in California's Central Valley, the 1,600 dairies there generate more waste than a city of 21 million people? Did you know that in 1997, growers applied more than 985 million pounds of pesticides and herbicides to crops? Can you conceive of a farm subsidy system that has people like Scottie Pippin and Sam Donaldson receiving farm program monies?There is a lot to ponder in this book and some excellent ideas and suggestions as to what we as consumers can do to make changes in our lives and our communities to help bring farming back to the people and out of the hands of the giant corporations.

The author does such a good job of showing what utter rats agribusiness/chain grocery stores/pesticide companies are I have to give this a five star rating. Environmental damage, exploitive labor practices, factory farms, unhealthy and at times out and out toxic food supply, destruction of the family farms, the FDA/USDA being there more to see to it that big food gets what they want instead of protecting the public. All of this is covered in Diet for a Dead Planet. Even the farm subsidies, which the average American probably thinks goes to prop up family farms is more a welfare program for the super wealthy who get paid for land they own that they don't farm. David Rockefeller and Ted Turner, along with corporations like Chevron and Dupont rake in the dough from these programs, not to mention big agribusiness firms.Probably the only annoyance in this book is he treads politically correct waters when talking about the exploitive labor practices used on illegal (and legal) immigrants by agribusiness. Its also very Americentric. I am really grateful to live in a country that while it is far from perfect, has higher food standards and doesn't allow all this toxic stuff into the food supply like America does and about a third of the fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy products on the shelves in Denmark are organic.

the best kosher cookbook ever published!

Great cookbook.

This is a cookbook with outstanding gourmet recipes for kosher meals. My cousin, who is a gourmet cook, had purchased it for me, when I asked her for the recipe for a great dish she cooked for us. After we had our house painted, it was misplaced. I could not find it in any bookstore. I should have known better, and contacted Amazon first. This was my first purchase from Amazon, and it came when it was promised and is as great as I remembered it to be.

This cookbook book is ellegantand the recipes I have used knock the socks offof my guests. Eventhough people say they are on a dieteveryone behaves like they have never tasted food before.If you only have this book it will get you through a lot!If I could give it a diamond award I would because its better than 5 stars!

The hard-copy versions look nice and all, but I wanted to know more about the Kindle edition. And I wasn't looking for reviews of the story. That's been the subject of glowing praise for decades. I got tired of trying to find a review that would answer the only question I had. Couldn't find one, so I finally broke down and BOUGHT the Kindle one-volume edition. And the answer is: Yes, the table of contents is all bundled together at the beginning, as opposed to having a separate T-o-C for each "volume" (stop sneering, I've seen other one-volume e-books where you have to skip through the whole first section to get to the table of contents for the second section). More importantly, the T-o-C actually works. That's right, I can go straight to any chapter by tapping that chapter on the T-o-C (again, other e-books had a static T-o-C where no amount of tapping would take me anywhere and I had to keep flipping pages to get to the chapter I wanted). Everything else seems to be functioning without problems. Dictionary, highlighting, synching between my Kindle and my phone, etc., all work perfectly. And in addition to being about half the cost of the three separate volumes, the one-volume edition helps to keep the scrolling at a minimum when searching through my library.

I bought it as a gift for my best friend, and the book is absolutely gorgeous! The cover has nice fabric-like texture, the pages are white and smooth, it has lots of illustrations. The book is big and heavy, so you won't be able to carry it around with you, it's designed for home reading. Can't recommend this edition enough: either as a gift or an addition to your library, it is a great buy.

I have never read the lord of the Rings before but I have watched the movies and played the games and I loved them. However I was always confused at what was going on at times but after reading the books everything makes so much sense now. I honestly liked the books more than the movies and although they are similar the books have way more content and details in them. So if you loved the movies I would 100% suggest getting the books.Speaking of the books I got the paperback version and they are beautiful. Although they are simple and the covers are one plain color per book it still has that sense of style and simplicity. They covers and case are thick and well made. Although their were points in the books where the words were slightly faded I still has no problem reading them.I'm not even going to talk about the story since just trust me when I say its one of the best series ever. I have never read or even considered reading a series twice but I honestly think that I might read this one a second time that's how much I liked it.So if you liked the movies and aren't sure about reading the books I would say go for it and get them since you wont be disappointed. If you never watched the movies then get both them and the books:)

Review for The Lord of the Rings.I'll keep it brief, this is not a review of the actual story but of this specific edition. I have attached many pictures that I hope help you decide if this is an edition you want to buy.Pros:- The font is big and easy to read.- 65 beautiful illustrations by Alan Lee that bring the story to life.Cons:- Slipcover is an opaque plastic, whit a modern look that I think doesn't complement the book.- One or two blank pages before and/or after each illustration.Overall I think this is a great edition and it's worth buying.

I am beyond disappointed. The font is too small to read, but I thought the artwork would make up for this since I already own editions with larger font. So many beautiful pieces of art were uploaded! Where can I find this edition? I just wasted $27. None of this artwork is found in the paperback edition. Is it found in the $90 hardback edition? I’m debating if I should just send this back since I can’t even read it 😭 These books are tiny!

For some people it doesn't matter, but for me, when I bought a serie of 4 books, the covers have to be the same, but here, I have two different cover, ugly, and two others who respect the esthetic of the movies. It's supposed to be a gift, I'm very upset.

What can you say about a classic? I'd never read these books all the way through before, and was determined to try, despite remembering what I had read as being tedious and somewhat purple-prose-ish. I apparently remembered wrong - coming back as an adult, these are beautiful books, very well-written and of course true epic fantasy. It may be that my tastes have changed, or just that I've matured, but these will definitely be reread many times.My only issue is that with the Kindle version, the footnotes seemed to be messed up. Many of them only bring up a page number (with no link), which may be how it was in the original books, but others seem to apply to footnotes further down the page, or just not at all to the thing they're noted from. Frustrating.
