I wanted to get a book to teach me the basics. This did the trick and was an easy read. Overall it does what I expected. I could use more techncical details, but that is for the engineer in me.

Amazon asks us to rate books by stars, but when I read a book about webcasting -- especially when it purports to be a guide for beginners -- I use the "Yeahbut" scale. As in the number of times I scream "Yeah, but..." when the author(s) make some simplistic statement about a complicated issue.I'm happy to report that the "Yeahbut" issue really never came up with this book. Scattered throughout the chapters are sidebars -- some labled "Alerts," some "Author's Tips," and others "Inside the Industry" -- that do a nice job of expanding on issues raised in the main text. Overall, the authors do a fine balancing act between being too simplistic and overloading the reader with detail.Disclosure: Part of my job is producing webcasts, and until recently was in an academic setting where I also taught classes on the subject. I am acquainted with both authors through professional meetings and their other writings. That being said, I have no hesitation in strongly recommending this book.What's unique about the structure of this book is that it covers both technical and business issues equally well. It's straightforward in its approach to technical matters -- lots of screenshots to illustrate settings and controls -- but it also lays out some essential considerations that are all-too-often overlooked by the beginner. Does this webcast really have to be live? What can I reasonably expect from an audience in terms of its connectivity? Can we handle this ourselves, or do we need to outsource this? Can we afford the bandwidth to do this? Folks just starting out seldom realize that getting a computer to spew out video and audio packets over the Internet is darn near the easiest thing in the world to do. Having content worth seeing, well, that's the hard part.One of the challenges of writing about webcasting is that the subject's a moving target. Examples in the book are heavily weighted toward RealNetworks and Microsoft's Windows Media. Quicktime is covered with respect to embedding the player in web pages and creating metafiles, but is generally sold short as a streaming platform. Likewise, Flash is largely dismissed. Both decisions were reasonable at the time the book was written and released. QuickTime Broadcaster wasn't the product it is now with it's use of the H.264 codec, and Flash 8 was still some months away. I'd expect a second edition to use more examples from each of these, but the real meat of this book -- the business, video and audio production, budget and personnel considerations -- are really quite independent of the particular streaming architecture one happens to use. And, for all the hype surrounding Flash here in the Spring of 2006, Windows Media and Real are still the industry heavyweights.There are other good books about the technical side of webcasting -- Damien Stolarz's "Mastering Internet Video : A Guide to Streaming and On-Demand Video" comes to mind as a non-Steve-Mack-authored example -- but Steve Mack and Dan Rayburn have written a unique book: a comprehensive survey of an often misunderstood topic that is both clear and immediately useful in a practical way. If you're new to webcasting, make this book one of your first purchases.

Dan Rayburn and Steve Mack are two industry veterans with incredible insight into the process and business of event webcasting. Steve brings a wealth of hands-on experience producing high profile events, and Dan knows the ins and outs of the business models and the digital media industry landscape.This book does a great job detailing, step by step, all the things you should consider when producing your own webcast...from how to deal with contracting issues, where to place cameras and microphones, how to deal with venue staff and third party vendors, and many other practical tips.If you want to get a head start on webcasting, this is the best book out there to get you going.

This book addresses the tight interaction of the business requirements, the technical solution and control of the unexpected. There is nothing especially complex about planning a webcast. But there are so many factors, so many moving parts, that it takes years to build the expertise to properly plan. OK, I know nothing about the mechanics of the automobile, well almost nothing, but this book is very interesting and incredible in it's detail. I am a HUGE Porsche 911 fan and it's very cool to read about the history and read the DNA on this amazing car. I loved the rich and beautiful pictures and it was cool that many of the cars were more of the modern type. I would not say this book focuses on the older models. Enjoyment for any 911 or Porsche fan !

I don't know what I was expecting but it is written more like product brochures than car reviews out of EVO.In fact I don't know if much of what is written about was driven or experienced and there aren't interviewswith many people.If you want a fact book you'll probably be happy. If you want a story I think you will be disappointed - despitethe title.

It's hard and sometimes impossible, however, to locate them on a map by the country flags because of the small format of the booklet. It would be better to charge a little more and have a few extra pages to show the countries' locations on the continents.

The first two pages of the book were off as far as printing and alignment. I think this could have been a great book. I expected more, such as some interesting facts and figures. The information is still factual and relevant, I just did not think the item was worth the price overall.

The content of the book is amazing, it is well put together. I took the stars off for the quality of the print. It looks like it was printed on a domestic use household printer where the smaller symbols on the flags are not recognizable. The images are not that sharp and it is disappointing.

Good book especially for children. All independent states with compact information (area, population, etc.) as well as flags.

My grandson is interested in geography and loves flags. This book was perfect for him. Good information, organized well and at a great price. I highly recommend this book.

I do buy a copy for all my students in my FPU classes, it is THAT IMPORTANT TO READ. Even if you aren't "into" Ramsey or FPU, it is a great "this is what you are doing on this planet" book.

I did not read the entirety of this book, perhaps this is an unfair review, BUT THIS IS NOT A BOOK ABOUT FINANCES. If you’re looking for a Dave Ramsey book on finance, you’re looking for: The Total Money Makeover and/or Financial Peace.This book is about getting rich in other avenues on your life: spiritually and familially, but does not specifically relate that back to finance in any relevant way. If you’re not seeking any kind of marriage or spiritual advice, definitely go with one of Dave’s other books.

I read Dave's book, "Financial Peace" first, before this one. I really liked Financial Peace, and also enjoyed this book. Where Financial Peace focused more on getting out of debt and saving money, this book focused on money and how it relates to your family, career, and life in general. Dave presents 10 keys on how to build wealth while maintaining a happy and successful lifestyle. Dave brings real life experiences from himself and his clients to help support his 10 keys. Two of the parts I found informative to my situation were 1) discussing your finances with your wife/spouse and children and 2) how to come up with a chore list and allowance for your children. These are things that my family already does, but Dave gave some great advice that helped make it even better. I look forwards to reading more of his financial books, and continuing our path on reducing debt and gaining wealth.

This book was more than I expected and I expected a lot. This book has easily put itself at the top of my list of favorites. There is so much wisdom in these pages and I will be revisiting this book over and over. Read it slow, you don't want to miss a thing! Thanks Dave for great read and a how to book for life!

Love all his books. Started with total money make over. Helped us so much, and written to be an enjoyable book to read, so I wanted to read more of his offerings. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Basic principles that seem too simple to work, but do. I read Financial Peace years ago and started the process, however, I wasn't ready to be disciplined & diligent to make the changes needed. Fast forward 8 yrs when I've realized I have to work harder & save more for dragging my feet. Don't be like me, start the journey now to having More Than Enough & be the generous giver your Heavenly Father intended you to be.

Most of the book was a repeat of the prior chapter. It was poorly written and felt more like an essay then motivational or informative. I like Dave Ramsey but this book was a disappointment.

Got an older print of the book used. It is really good and uses a lot of real examples that everyone can relate too. Dave's way of including is wife's thoughts on each chapter are great for couples to read as well as singles. The lessons and keys that he mentions are not rocket science and since I am not a rocket scientist they work for me.Overall this is a great book.

It did tell me some things I never new before, like how, depending on the pokemon you fight, your Pokemon's stats are effected. For example, if you fight a fast pokemon, it will give your pokemon's speed stat a workout. It will work as a guide for all three games. (Gold, Silver, Crystal) When there is a difference from gold or silver, it points it out in a conveinient little box. One thing you should be aware about, on the back cover, it does NOT say the stuff the person said in the editorial review. Here's what it really says (The guide is right in front of me): Be prepared to meet the new characters, solve the new puzzles, and face the new challenges added to the worlds of gold and silver! This is a handy pocket-sized companion guidebook for the Pokemon Game Boy Color Crystal game. This is really a gift for my son so I have little to say about it other than he finds it helpful and useful. I ordered it through amazon.com because it is not an easy book to find locally any longer since the game is no longer manufactured.

This book is very helpful to help you with the crystal version. It is really neat too. It helps me figure out what do. I love it!
