There is also a glossary, so you can understand the Wall Street lingo.This is not a book you read in one seating. I recommend you study chapter by chapter and get familiar with the numbers and calculations to make wise investment decisions. EDIT 8/7/14: After I wrote this review, I discovered that the end of this book has very good advice on when to sell your stock. This info alone was worth the price of the book, and is finally enabling me to actually make a bit of money from my stocks. So I change my rating from 3 to 4 stars for this.As a true beginner, I found this book rather frustrating. I liked that a minimal amount of time was spent on general investing advice, so that we could get right into stocks. At first I liked that this is a small book, 128 pages of content with a small page size and medium font, but soon realized that the information was packed too densely for me to be able to learn it. The bulk of the book is one equation on company statistics after another woven into a loose narrative. They said to follow along with the equations at home, but I would have needed more guidance than that, like a work book or at least some exercises. So the more I read, the more lost I got. I will, however, keep this as a reference book, as it has a good index, and I will be able to use it to look up terms and equations.

Wanted to invest in the stock market so i bought this. helped me out with not making a big mistake. I recommend this to anyone and the other book i bought was the beginners guide to the stock market (not advertising for it, i really bought it with this). Both books are worth the money and it'll help you in the long run to understand what you want and what you should get out of your money.

If you're looking for equations and term explanations this is the book for you. It breaks down every equation and explains exactly what it means from an investment standpoint. If you already know the technical terms and equations then avoid this book. If you don't, read and then re-read this book. It will save you from so much confusion.

I got this as a gift for my best friend who wants to start exploring the stock market and wanted something to keep as quick reference.It covers basics like stock exchanges, bonds vs mutual funds vs stocks etc .For folks who are totally new to stock market, i recommend this.

This book has good intentions with plenty of information for beginners, however don't feel bad if you get a little lost when some of the terminology and assumption that all of it has been explained thoroughly. A glossary in the back is extremely helpful when dealing with new terms that I had no idea of what to do with like price/earning ratio, ETF, hedging fund expenses, etc. The plus side is the extensive step by step explanations of how to do pretty much anything like choosing a broker, selecting funds vs. stocks and more.All in all, there's enough information to take you from beginning to end, and a great reference for the wealth of material that is needed to know when deciding to take the dive into the stock market.

This is a great intro book if you want to really understand the basic fundamentals of stock investing. There's a lot of automated tools and apps now that most people without fundamentals can use if they want to break into the stock market, but for those that really want to have the knowledge of what stock market investing is about, this is great.

This book will teach you the basics of stock analysis and stock investing. It's practical and simple to read, but it could be cheaper! All in all is a good book that worths your time!

I bought this Will writing guide without knowing what I was getting into. Even though it sat on my book shelf for a year before I got back to it, it didn't get any riper with age. The book covers a lot and is very educational in planning for the disposition of an estate - not so much in detail but enough to send you on a research mission for the more detailed info.The software is another story. I found the software to be less than user friendly, especially if you don't know anything about Wills and estate planning. Furthermore, it is very limited in it's customization. Sometimes one has to answer "Yes" or "No" to a question when the answer might be neither. Where there is more than one beneficiary one has no choice to use percentages to designate how much of the total bequest is to go to the heir. The answer demands that you enter a fraction. That is not too bad with only two people unless you want it to be something like 41% and 59% (convert that to fractions on the fly!). But try breaking it down between 8 grandchildren at different percentages - you can get close by juggling the numbers by breaking the percentages down into fractions, but that can get to be time consuming before you get the notification that tells you everything adds up correctly. Also, I understand the reasoning for it, but I didn't care for the program when it disallowed me from going forward without answering a question. Moreover, when backing up to change something you might get a message that tells you that you changed too much so now you have to go back to the start (without passing "GO" and not collecting your $200).These are but couple of issues that I ran across before I gave up and just answered the questions and printed the document out as a .pdf and used a pdf editor to fill in the blanks as would like for them to be - of course, without changing the legal terminology.All-in-all I regret paying as much for this as I did - here on Amazon. If anything, I have learned from the experience and now have more questions than answers. ~

Very simply laid out with a good CD. Don't worry if it is a bit outdated, the basics have never really changed. In fact, the law allows for a signed & dated written, in your own hand, and signed "Holographic Will." , while it could be entertaining, it doesn't involve a talking holographic Princess Leia. It's easy to look that up on the internet. It reminds one of all the issues that must be addressed before dying, including, if you'd prefer to go naturally, if you want to be buried or thrown three sheets to the wing as reflecting ones's life, and basically taking away some decisions that your loved ones won't want to do because they will always wonder if they made the right choice. It also helps think if there is someone who would be best to see your wishes be carried out. So it's a great useable reminder with the tools to help write it all down. The hardest part id finding 2 witnesses and a notary.

You will also of course have to appoint an executor; trusted family member or friend. The will is 'self-proving,' meaning your heirs will not have to endure any form of lengthy probate court proceedings. The book is very informative. The software is easy to use, and revisions are a snap.It works a bit like Turbotax, and you can skip to different sections very easily. I like the simple wording style. I'll still take it to a local lawyer for a quick look over. It generates a pdf or you can print to paper.Found the book and software to be cheaper than the software alone. No serial numbers to type in, but it does like to be registered and you get free updates only till the end of the year, and then it's time for a new version.

Not worth the price, you can find all this info on the web for free. Not what I expected. Fine if you are a complete dummy I suppose, otherwise not of much value.

Tremendous resource! A local attorney quoted me $1,600 per person for the docs I needed. I spent several days going over this, then (using Nolo's included on-line tools and files) authored end of life docs for my entire family.Don't get me wrong. If you have an estate with any complications, you may do well hiring an attorney. Our family's needs were pretty straight forward. Durable power of attorney for health care, Durable power of attorney for finances, Living will etc. I'm told Nolo has a great tool for generating a revocable living trust...so that's my next job.Thanks, Nolo!

This book with disk was extremely helpful for writing a will. It walks you through every step and the disk has lots of helpful FAQ links. You type in the information and it is saved in a document. It also includes one free Trust document (from Nolo Press). A nice bonus, again with lots of helpful hints.
